How should I take cyclizine?

Cyclizine is usually taken every 4 to 6 hours. Follow your doctor’s instructions.

Do not take this medicine for longer than 7 days in a row. Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse.

Take cyclizine with food if the medicine upsets your stomach.

To prevent nausea from chemotherapy, take cyclizine 30 minutes before your treatment begins.

To prevent nausea from radiation therapy, take cyclizine 2 hours before your treatment begins.

Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow it whole.

Measure liquid medicine with the dosing syringe provided, or with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.

Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse.

Do not stop using cyclizine suddenly after long-term use, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Ask your doctor how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when you stop using cyclizine.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
